Drum recording experiment

I was thinking about recording acoustic drums and using Steven Slate drum samples, and what would be the perfect way to do it, from a mix engineers point of view.

I came up with this: (watch in high quality ;)



We used drum pads from an Alesis electronic drum kit, going into an Alesis DM5 drum module, then taking the midi out and sending it into Pro Tools. Used AKG C1000's for the overheads and a Rode NT5 on the hats. See what you think of the sound.
